Fo.co. Onlus was founded in 2012 in Sicily with the aim of working for sustainable development of the territory and for the enhancement of individuals and diversities through welcoming projects for asylum seekers, refugees and unaccompanied foreign minors (MSNA), vocational training paths and awareness raising activities, being guided by the ethical code linked to principles of the United Nations Charter.

MAIN WORK AREAS: RESEARCH AND TRAINING: Fo.Co. realizes in Pozzallo (RG), one of the main areas of migrant landing, the Mediterranean Center of Studies and Training G. La Pira to train social and institutional actors in order to improve the conditions for the reception and integration of unaccompanied minors, refugees and asylum seekers.

WELCOMING PROJECTS for MSNA (Unaccompanied Foreign Minors): Our Welcoming Projects are in Sicily and Calabria managed in agreement with municipalities and provide a range of service: welfare services – mediation, legal assistance, and social assistance – literacy service for adult and minors asylum seeker/refugees.

INTEGRATION: Promotion and management of the project Making System Beyond Welcoming for social and working inclusion of migrants and realization of national networks of companies and families willing to give their support and developing a collaborative and participatory methodology.

RAISING AWARENESS AND SOCIAL POLICIES: #NoDrugsToBeCool is a project funded by Italian Department of Youth, aim to raise awareness among minors to promote responsible use of the web. Ahlan Wa Sahlan project was created to respond to the need for social inclusion and socialization of asylum seekers and refugees, both adults and minors, supporting the activities carried out by the cooperative Fo.Co. in favor of migrants. And Migrant Liter@cies, among the European Projects, aims to develop innovative practices, including the creative use of ICT for language learning.
